It all began in 1994 with 2 little “puddin” terriers - Bailey & Kahlua. We fell in love with a litter of puppies, brought a brother and sister home and so the saga began.

We knew nothing about JRs but we learned fast! Five dog beds and a jail escape later, we finally built a JR proof pen to contain these little monsters and hired a dog walker to come in and provide much needed entertainment and exercise during the day.

We called Bailey our “smilin’ Jack” for he was always happy, and so our kennel name was born.

We started attending JRTCA trials with our two terriors and by 1996, the showing bug had taken hold. We then purchased our 1st “show quality” puppy - Westwood Mocha. She became the foundation of our breeding program.

An impulse purchase resulted in “Evil” Rumba - who taught us the importance of breeding excellent temperaments and introduced us to the challenge of keeping the peace in a multi-Jack Russell household.
